When making your new year resolutions, keep the earth in mind! There are lots of easy things you can do everyday to help the earth. You can, carry a reusable water bottle, use reusable shopping bags, use less plastic sandwich bags and more reusable containers, and don't forget to recycle what you can't avoid!

I've been doing lots of reading about plastic this week and it's really worrisome. Plastic is often mistaken for pray by marine organisms. Because plastic isn't biodegradable, it can't be broken down and it can't be digested by the marine organisms that mistake it for food. It collects in their stomach and can cause serious health issues. Please dispose of your plastic properly, recycle want can be recycled and avoid what can be avoided.

Why do we recycle? Because the average North American uses 700 lbs. of paper a year, that's approximately 465 trees per person! And, recycled paper only creates 25% of the pollution that new paper creates! Yay recycling!

Continue to recycle cardboard, paper, aluminum, and plastics in your classroom recycle bins. We also accept used markers that can be collected in the teacher copy rooms and in room C213. We also accept clean plastic grocery bags that can be collected in room C213 and 130.
