❤️💛 REP YOUR FLAG DAY! 💛❤️🌎

Today at ICA, our students had the opportunity to learn about and celebrate Hispanic and Latino heritage through the colors, flags, and cultures they represent!

From the flags they colored to the special clothing and colors they wore, our students brought a little piece of culture and heritage into our school today.

We loved seeing our students share, learn, ask questions, and celebrate what makes each culture unique. 📚✨

And learning doesn’t stop here! Next week, our Hispanic Heritage Month celebration continues with a special parade, music, food, and more opportunities to learn about and experience different Hispanic cultures and traditions!

Many cultures. Many stories. So much to learn! 🌎❤️

🧱 A Firm Foundation in Christ

This morning, Pastor used building blocks to give us a simple but powerful picture of what it means to have a strong foundation.

Two towers demonstrated the difference between a good foundation and a poor foundation. One tower had a wide, solid base, while the other was narrow and unstable. When thinking about storms, strong winds, and difficult circumstances, it became clear which tower would be more likely to stand.

Pastor connected this to Jesus’ teaching about the wise and foolish builders in Matthew 7. The wise builder builds on a strong foundation, one that is rooted in Christ and His Word. The foolish builder chooses a weak foundation and does not follow Jesus.

Life will bring storms, challenges, and uncertainty. But when our lives are built on Jesus, our firm foundation, we have something that will hold us steady. Our strength doesn't come from how tall, strong, or capable we are on our own, it comes from the One on whom we build our lives.

"Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” - Matthew 7:24

Introducing... Noodle Hockey! 🏒

😜Silly? Absolutely. 😆Fun? Of course! A great way to get moving? You bet! 💪

Our students enjoyed a game of this low-impact activity that gets everyone involved, moving, laughing, and working together. No fancy equipment or superstar skills required, just grab a noodle and have some fun!

At ICA, we love finding creative ways to make physical activity something everyone can enjoy! Who knew a pool noodle could make PE this much fun?! 😂

🏐📣🏃‍♂️🏀 Happy National Coaches Day!

Today we celebrate the coaches and assistant coaches who give their time, energy, encouragement, and heart to our ICA athletes. Coaching is about so much more than teaching a sport, it’s about teaching teamwork, perseverance, discipline, confidence, leadership, and character.

At Immanuel Christian Academy, we are blessed with a team of coaches who invest in our students both on and off the court!

🏐 VOLLEYBALL, Mr. Burks & Mrs. Thomas
Thank you for challenging our volleyball players to work hard, support one another, and never give up. You help our Cardinals grow in confidence, skill, teamwork, and character while reminding them that success is about more than the scoreboard!

📣 PEP SQUAD, Mrs. Burks & Ms. McNutt
Thank you for bringing energy, enthusiasm, and Cardinal spirit to our games! You help our Pep Squad members build confidence, learn teamwork, and show school pride while cheering on their classmates.

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ CROSS COUNTRY, Mr. Hempel & Mrs. Atkins
Thank you for encouraging our runners to keep putting one foot in front of the other, literally! 😂 You teach our athletes to set goals, push through challenges, and discover what they are capable of.

🏀 BASKETBALL, Mrs. Coleman
We’re excited to welcome Mrs. Coleman to the coaching team as an assistant basketball coach to Coach Burks! We know she’ll bring the same dedication and heart she brings to the classroom to the basketball court very soon. We can’t wait to see her in action! 🏀

To all of our coaches, especially to A.D. Coach Steven Burks, thank you for investing in our students. The lessons you teach through athletics - perseverance, teamwork, commitment, humility, encouragement, and faith, will stay with our students long after the season ends.

P.S. Our coaches would like you to know that it is also National Taco Tuesday. 🌮🤣

📚 Happy World Teachers’ Day! ✝️

World Teachers’ Day is a time to appreciate educators around the world and to recognize the importance of supporting, equipping, and empowering teachers to do what they do best.

At Immanuel Christian Academy, we are blessed with teachers who give so much of themselves to our students. They teach, encourage, challenge, listen, pray, and guide our children every day.

When we support our teachers, we strengthen our school. When we empower our teachers, we empower our students.

Supporting teachers can look like so many things:
🍎 Encouraging them and recognizing their hard work
📚 Providing the resources and professional development they need
🙏 Praying for them and with them
❤️ Giving them the trust, respect, and encouragement they need to do their best

Our teachers are an essential part of the ministry of Immanuel. We want to nurture an environment where they can continue to grow, learn, lead, and share their God-given gifts with our students.

To all our teachers and teaching assistants: Thank you for all you do. We see you, we appreciate you, and we are grateful for the difference you make every day. ❤️

📖 “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” –Colossians 3:23

🍎💛 October is Principal Appreciation Month! 💛🍎

This month, we celebrate Mrs. Nash, our incredible principal at Immanuel Christian Academy! 🎉

Being a principal is so much more than what happens behind a desk. Mrs. Nash pours her time, energy, faith, and heart into our students, teachers, and families each and every day. From supporting our teachers and encouraging our students to helping solve the many little (and not-so-little!) challenges that come with running a school.

Most importantly, Mrs. Nash leads with a heart for Christ and a genuine desire to see our students grow in faith, learn with purpose, and become the people God has created them to be. ✝️📚

Mrs. Nash, thank you for your leadership, your patience, your dedication, and for all the things you do that often happen behind the scenes. We are so thankful for YOU and the blessing you are to our ICA family! ❤️💛

Help us give Mrs. Nash a BIG "THANK YOU" in the comments! 👏🍎

Save the dates! Principal Appreciation Week: October 19–24

🏐💗 PINK OUT VOLLEYBALL GAME OCTOBER 9! 🏐💗

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and our ICA Cardinals are going PINK!

💗 Join us on October 9 at 4pm as we come together to raise awareness, show support, and remember those whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.

Wear your pink, cheer on our Cardinals, and help us fill the gym with HOPE, SUPPORT & LOVE! 🩷

💗 This Pink Out event will be especially meaningful for our ICA family. Former Principal, Valerie Winston bravely faced her own battle with breast cancer. We will remember and honor her courageous journey and the impact she made on students and colleagues by announcing the Valerie Winston Memorial Scholarship.

🏐We will also honor our 8th grade athletes as they play their last Home volleyball game as a Cardinal. 🏐

We hope you’ll join us for this special evening of volleyball, remembrance, community, and hope.💗

🍎🎨 Apple Art in PreK–1st Grade! 🎨🍎

Our youngest students were busy getting creative with some colorful apple art!

From choosing their favorite colors to adding their own special touches, these little artists had plenty of fun learning, creating, and making a little mess along the way. 😊

We love seeing these artistic minds at work and their fall themed, finished masterpieces!❤️💛
