The Fisk Museum has its first Holotype specimen, a new species of fossil macroalga from the Silurian of northern Michigan! It was discovered by the Curator and named in his honor by Dr. Steve LoDuca, a world expert on fossil marine algae at Eastern Michigan University. The species name is Earltonella swinehartii.
