The HCISD and HACC comply with a federal laws and regulations prohibiting discrimination and with all requirements and regulations of the U.S. It outlines the operations and expectations of your participation in the Career Technical Education program(s) at the HACC. Students and parents are expected to familiarize themselves with the content as it pertains to being part of the HACC. However, pursu

ant to Board Policies, an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 Plan for an individual student may specify particular circumstances when the rule and procedures in the handbook may be modified or not applicable. An IEP or 504 Plan shall be on file with the Hillsdale Area Career Center so that administration and teaching staff/support staff are aware of the student’s special needs and how to assist the student for a successful experience. SECTION 504 OF THE REHABILITATION ACT OF 1973
“No otherwise-qualified individual with a disability in the United States, shall, solely by reason of his or her disability, as defined in section 706(8) of this title, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance…” (29 U.S.C. §794(b))
TITLE II OF THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT OF 1990 (ADA) (as amended)
“No qualified individual with a disability shall, on the basis of disability, be excluded from participation in or be denied the benefits of the services, programs, or activities of a public entity, or be subjected to discrimination by any public entity.” (§35.130) OCTE/CRCR Coor Manual 8 rev. part 35, effectuates Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, which is designed to eliminate discrimination by public entities on the basis of disability. TITLE VI OF THE CIVIL RIGHTS ACT OF 1964
“No person in the United States shall, on the grounds of race, color or national origin be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under any program receiving Federal financial assistance.” (34 CFR, §103.3)
TITLE IX OF THE EDUCATION AMENDMENTS OF 1972
“No person shall, on the basis of s*x, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance.” (34 CFR, §106)

It is the policy of the Hillsdale County Intermediate School District Board of Education that no person, on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry, age, s*x, marital status or disability shall be discriminated against, excluded from participation in, denied the benefits of, or otherwise be subjected to discrimination in any program or activity. Lack of English language skills** will not be a barrier to admission and participation in Career Technical Education programs. HACC students: The driving policy has changed for the 26-27 school year.
1. Seniors and Will Carleton students who have registered their vehicle may begin driving on August 18, 2026, provided your local district allows student driving.
2. All other students: TBD based on registration and available space.

Senior drivers, please complete the Driving Registration form by August 18, 2026. All other students wanting to drive should fill out the form ASAP to help with space planning.

The registration form is for drivers only; riders do not need to duplicate a registration.
