At the June 9th Township Committee meeting, Mayor Catherine Payne presented Hillsborough High School and Hamilton College graduate Morgan Hodorowski with a proclamation in honor of her achieving the status of Fulbright Scholar.

Morgan just wrapped up a phenomenal career at Hamilton College, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a degree in English Literature and a spot in the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa honor society.

No stranger to academic adventures, Morgan spent six months studying at Oxford University during her junior year and has been interning at the Library of Congress since January. Now, she is taking her talents global. Morgan was recently awarded the prestigious Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Scholarship and will be heading to Taiwan to teach English for the upcoming academic year. We wish her well in all her endeavors.

The Training Center is opening its second location later this year in Branchburg. They offer trade programs in HVAC, electrical, welding, plumbing, refrigeration and boiler operations. Super nice people who came to our fair. I noticed one of our 2026 grads plans to start later this year!

A NJ trade school just signed a 10-year lease on 25,000 sq ft off Route 22 in Branchburg. The best part - 18,000 of it is pure lab space - not lecture halls - just pure interactive learning. There has never been a better time to jump into a trade career.

Whether your are looking at HVAC, electrical, welding or plumbing - this school has it all. It is expected to open later in 2026.

Last night, Team Kean held a Service Academy Information Session for high school students interested in applying for a Service Academy nomination. Representatives from the five U.S. Service Academies shared insights into their programs and the admissions processes.

Each year, Members of Congress have the honor of nominating high school seniors for appointment to the U.S Military Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and U.S. Air Force Academy. All applicants must meet strict qualifications and undergo a rigorous selection process in seeking a Congressional Nomination, including an interview with an independent Academy Review Board. The U.S. Coast Guard Academy does not require a Nomination.

On June 1, my office will open the portal for the 2026 online application for students seeking a Congressional Nomination to a service academy. The application deadline is October 16, 2026. For more information visit kean.house.gov/services/service-academy-nominations
