I am Rohan Gupta, a Junior at Hillsborough High School.
I have been playing the piano since I was five years old. 11 years later, my appreciation for the instrument has grown every year. I have played in many recitals, and participated in multiple competitions and festivals. I feel fortunate for coming across the piano so early in my life. I truly feel that I can help other young children get acquainted with the piano and start their own journey.
That’s why I’m starting “Intro to Piano with Rohan”, a VIRTUAL program spanning across 5 30-minute lessons. I will introduce kids aged 5 to 12 to piano, teach them the basics, and give them a feel of playing the instrument.
Learning the piano has several benefits like improved memory, better motor control and hand-eye coordination, alertness, etc, especially at a young age. Playing an instrument has also been known to help with math skills.
