Hi everyone - had to share Phil's latest piece! I fell in love with this little ski cart he created/restored. Given snow season (and skiing!) is not far off in the future, this is a sweet accent piece for your home.

Phil has several projects he's just completed and I'll just say everything he makes just makes your nooks and cozy spaces at home all that much more inviting. You can see what's new in my recent feature, Stay the Weekend, (and check out my "Broken Leg" cocktail recipe for the Winter - which you can serve on that cart!)

My day started with a (VERY) crisp walk on the beach, visit to East Cozy Trading Co., and then I felt starving. So I popped into Calef's Country Store and grabbed a savory sandwich. Calef's is really not far from Dover (over in Barrington). Yum yum yum - I pulled my favorite sandwiches off their menu and you can get the details on hiddenlocalnh dotcom

With the weather being so perfect lately, this was the perfect way for me to spend my Saturday.

If you find yourself on the Kancamangus highway this month, in search of that special foliage, and you're crawling along, we're recommending the back roads to Pittsfield NH.

GOFFSTOWN VISITORS — TAKE THE MOUNTAIN! For my friends coming from Manchester or points south, ready for another little adventure? How about shopping somewhere you might not find unless you knew where to look?

Take Wallace Road from Bedford, wind your way around the Uncanoonuc Mountains, and head into Goffstown.

The foliage is beautiful. The village is worth wandering. And tucked just off Main Street on Church Street is a little treasure chest.

FRIENDS AND VISITORS TO NH - THIS ONE IS WORTH TAKING THE LONG WAY! Here's an absolutely quintissential stunning NH drive through the foliage for your upcoming weekend.

And one of the places worth finding? **Five Sisters Farm.** 🐑

Meg and her family have created the kind of little farm shop you want to wander into — surrounded by sheep, wool, pumpkins, and the warmth of things made by hand.

The Shetland sheep are just the beginning. There are beautiful yarns, cozy woolens, and that wonderful feeling of discovering something you didn't know was there.

And while you're in Plainfield, you can catch French's Ledges, a beautiful covered bridge, a historic treasure tucked inside the Town Hall, and a few places nearby where you can stop for a good meal.

HAPPY FALL AFTERNOON HOPKINTON! I just came back from a brisk walk with my pup, and I was thinking that sometimes enjoying Fall and feeling cozy means stealing an hour for yourself.

At the top of my list is a quiet 60-minute massage at Henniker Massage & Wellness in Hopkinton. And after that was done, I'd drive myself over to The Everyday Cafe for something warm and delicious. Maple BLT — sweet, savory, smoky. Most likely I'd grab a coffee to go.

You could get completely lost in Henniker Book Farm and Gifts. With its inviting entrance and warm welcome from Lacey Brown, the owner, you'll have a hard time leaving. Lacey and its previous owner have turned NH's oldest used bookstore into an experience, creating intrigue around every corner. It's a chock-a-block treasure trove of pages.

More like a library than a bookstore, you'll find the usual suspects like fiction and American history, but you'll be arrested by more obscure categories such as literary criticism, a very well stocked sports, adventure and hunting and fishing section, and my personal favorite "plays."
