Adan was our reader of the week this Wednesday. He shared some pages from book 2 of Amulet (The Stonekeeper's Curse), a graphic novel series that quite a few of our 2nd graders have gotten interested in this year. Great reading and thanks for sharing, Adan!

Evan was our reader of the week this week. He shared several pages from one of his favorite comic books: Garfield! I love Evan's expression as he reads and how he really dives into the dialogue. Way to go, Evan, and thanks for sharing!

We had some special visitors in our classroom today; Preston and his mascot pal Barley (from the Hillsboro Hops baseball team) came to read The Lorax to us this morning. Thank you, Preston, Barley, and all the guest readers from the Hops who visited Ladd Acres today. And Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

We created envelopes to hold all our Valentine goodies last Friday. The requirements were: your envelope must have at least one animal on it and ALL parts of that animal must be made out of heart-shaped paper. Here are some ADORABLE examples! They were all terrific!
