📸 Lots happening around ATS last week!

Our students were busy putting their skills into action, gaining hands-on experience, and serving our campus community!

🍴🚑 Culinary Arts & EMT students volunteered at the Jefferson College Wellness Fair, lending a hand and representing their programs while supporting a great campus event.

🩺 Health Services I & II students were hard at work in the lab, practicing important healthcare skills through activities focused on phlebotomy and personal protective equipment (PPE).

From community involvement to hands-on labs, there’s always something happening at the Jefferson College Area Technical School! These experiences give our students opportunities to learn by doing and build skills they can take directly into their future careers.

We love seeing our ATS students in action! 💙🧡

❤️‍🩹 Hands-On Training for Our Future Educators! 🚑

Our Jefferson College Area Technical School Early Childhood Education students recently partnered with the Jefferson College EMS program for hands-on First Aid and CPR training as part of their Child Health, Safety, and Nutrition course!

With guidance from EMS faculty, students participated in practical, scenario-based training and demonstrated the skills needed to respond confidently and appropriately in emergency situations. Through this experience, students completed the requirements to earn their Pediatric and Adult First Aid and CPR certifications! 👏

For future early childhood educators, these are essential skills that will help them create safe, prepared, and supportive environments for the children and families they serve.

A big thank you to our Jefferson College EMS faculty for sharing their expertise and helping prepare the next generation of educators! 💙

These industry visits gave students the opportunity to see modern manufacturing in action, explore different career pathways, and learn firsthand how the skills they’re developing at ATS are used in the workplace every day.

A huge thank you to Heizer, H-J, WWP, and WEIR for welcoming our students, sharing your expertise, and helping inspire the next generation of skilled manufacturing professionals!

🔥 GEARED UP & READY TO GO! 🚒

ATS Fire Science students have been getting hands-on experience with two essential pieces of firefighter equipment: turnout gear and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)!

Students have been learning about the different components of their turnout gear, how an SCBA works, and why this equipment is critical for firefighter safety. They’ve also completed several turnout gear and SCBA walks to experience the added weight and physical demands of wearing the equipment while working.

These training exercises help students build familiarity, endurance, and confidence while preparing for the real-world conditions firefighters face. 💪🔥
