We had our annual outdoor club meeting and class yesterday at Suson Park! Catered by Canes (and Dave the best delivery guy). We presented our case studies and had a club sesh. If it looks like they are all staring at their phones, they are! We do a collaborative Google site so everyone can see each others cases from their devices.

Shout out to all of the MRI techs out there! We pulled some stats to share! We want you to know exactly how dedicated they are to their healthcare role and in safety! Thank you, MRI techs!

In the USA-
50,233 Techs are MRI registered
974 are in Missouri
Some go on to take their MRSO which is magnetic resonance safety officer and/or MRSE magnetic resonance safety expert.
Some technologists get their MRST which is MR safety tech.

Recertification for the MRSO/MRSE, MRST is every 10 years through the international board of magnetic resonance safety

Technologists have mandatory annual safety training, and must obtain 24 continuing education units every other year

Did you know this? Metal mesh in clothing keeps the body dry during exercise, but can heat up in an MRI scan. If unsure, scrubs are always best to be scanned in! But don’t just take our word for it, do some research! Knowledge is power.

Annual professional development day for our rising seniors! Special thank you to Jefferson College Workforce Development team, specifically Jessie for helping each of our students craft their resume and cover letters. And to Mercy recruiters for coming to discuss the interview process and follow up. We conducted mock interviews, discussed how to dress properly, best and worst practices for interviews, etc. Our students left with valuable tools in their pockets and are ready to start getting those dream jobs! 🌟
