✨ Meet the Magic Makers – Magic Maker Monday! ✨
🦸♀️🦸♂️ Spotlight on our HCA Hero: Jennifer Morris 🎶🎭
We’re celebrating the amazing people who make Hillsboro Charter Academy shine, and today we’re excited to feature Jennifer Morris, our talented Music Teacher, Choir Director, and Theater Director, who has been part of the HCA family for 2 years and an educator for 32 years!🌟🎼
Jennifer’s passion for teaching comes from her love of showing students how music connects to everything. She believes music is not just an art—it’s a powerful bridge to subjects like math, science, history, and language arts. Through music, students can experience learning in a deeper, more connected way. 🎵📚
One of the things Jennifer loves most about working at HCA is the supportive community of colleagues who work together to help scholars grow and thrive. She values being part of a team that is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences for every student. ❤️
🎭 Favorite HCA Memory
While Jennifer says new favorite memories happen every week, one standout moment was directing the cast of Madagascar Jr.. Watching the students collaborate, practice, and bring the production to life—and then seeing everything come together during the evening performance—was truly pure magic. 🎭🎶✨
💡 The HCA Way
To Jennifer, the HCA Way means seeing the world in more than one dimension. It’s about intertwining music, art, math, science, language arts, and history so students develop a connected understanding of the world—linking the past, present, and future together through learning. 🌍
🔬 STEAM & E3 in Music
Jennifer incorporates STEAM and the E3 framework (Explore! Engage! Engineer!) by showing scholars that music doesn’t exist in isolation. Students explore the history behind a piece, engage with the mathematics of rhythm, and even investigate the engineering of instruments. Through these experiences, the arts help bring every subject to life. 🎶⚙️📐
Jennifer believes that while big productions are exciting, the small daily accomplishments matter just as much. Her proudest achievement is creating an environment where students experience those little “aha!” moments and grow their confidence step by step. 💡🌱
🏠 House: Amistad ❤️
Jennifer chose the House of Amistad because its core values of friendship and bravery are at the heart of everything she strives to build in the music room. Her favorite part of the House system is the way it encourages students and staff to uplift one another and build strong bonds within the school community.
✨ Fun Fact: Jennifer was a gymnast for 13 years! 🤸♀️
Outside of school, Jennifer enjoys gardening and cooking as ways to recharge. Whether she’s trying a new recipe for her husband Keith or relaxing in the garden with their three dogs, those quiet creative moments help balance her busy days at school. 🌿🐶🍳

🦸♀️ Teacher Superpower Wish:
Jennifer would love the ability to instantly show students their own potential—helping them see just how capable and wonderful they are before they even sing their first note. ✨🎤

Celebrate the small everyday victories. Those little daily lightbulb moments are the accomplishments that truly matter. 💡
