Marion County Parents as Teachers Marion County Parents as Teachers is a free program for any family living in Marion County with children ages prenatal to 36 months of age.

The Marion County Parents as Teachers (PAT) program understands that children are born to learn and that parents are their child’s best and first teachers. The majority of brain connections are made in the first 3 years of life. In order to make the most of this crucial time in learning, PAT has developed program goals including:
• To increase parents’ knowledge of child development and appropriat

e ways to stimulate learning
• To promote a strong parent-child relationship
• To provide a means for early detection of potential learning delays
• To prevent and reduce child abuse and neglect

Join us for Safe Kids Family Night, a fun-filled evening for kids and adults to explore, play, and learn together!

When: Friday, July 17th, 6:30 to 8 PM
Where: Memorial Park in Hillsboro, KS
Why: Child injury prevention and safety for the whole family!

• Classic yard games

The Marion City Library is sponsoring a free event, “Science Heroes”, to be held at the Marion Community Center July 8th, 10 a.m. Unearth your love for science in this fun and interactive S.T.E.M. show for the whole family. With help from audience volunteers, we’ll conduct exciting science experiments all about the changing states of matter, pressure, and more.

All ages are welcome to attend this FREE program!
