TVA Bells Tualatin Valley Academy
Adventist Christian School
Tualatin Valley Academy has a history with handbells.

Michael Blackburn, Ring of Fire alumnus, has brought the bells back to TVA. He and the bell choir plan to push the limits of what handbells can do, all while teaching the kids how to play music from memory, with passion and precision.

Today we had 7 members of TVA Bells graduate as part of our school’s first senior class. Students signed one of our bell pads to commemorate this milestone, which will be a fun memory next time we re-cover the table pads. They have left their mark on all of us here at TVA, and we will miss them!

And that’s a wrap. Our advanced bell concert on Sunday night was so, so good. These students have worked hard this year. They learned 17 songs between August and December and 18 more this spring, while balancing all their other responsibilities and performing. Their spring repertoire was extremely challenging. We are incredibly proud of them.

Thank you, too, to the parents and community members who support our students and this program. We could not do this without you.

We got to spend Sabbath with our Forest Grove Church family today! Our praise team, choir, and advanced bell choir led the service from start to finish. We love getting to spend time with our extended TVA Family!
