What’s the role of technology in education? 💻 “Too much too early”can create a convenience dependency and stifle imagination and problem-solving. “Too little too late” can leave students behind in developing skills for a tech-driven future.

At Trailblazer, we strive to be a “low-tech, tech school” where students under age 12 are learning coding, robotics, and design thinking through a hands-on, screen-free process as much as possible.

Then, in middle school, we introduce more regular device usage as a way to expand their engineering and design skills, using technology as a tool rather than a toy.

Let's SEE how fun learning can be!! 👀

Our student-led, project-focused learning can sometimes feel like TOO MUCH fun (is that even a thing?) to be considered "real school" in comparison to traditional school.

Where are the desks? The worksheets? The teacher in the front?

While those may feel crucial to "school," they are not, in fact, crucial to learning.

At Trailblazer, learning looks like:
✅ Measuring a student's growth by the student's capabilities, rather than a general letter grade or age-based standard.
✅ Manipulating a lesson's information into a tangible design
✅ Watching a student showcase empathy, grit, creativity, and excellence on their own
