Today in STEAM Club group 2 students made pumpkin launchers out of 2 by 4s, bungees, screws, and a small bucket! They did amazing! It was awesome to hear their conversations, make adjustments and see their hard work pay off! The winners were Harlo's group with Harlo, Ryker, Jaxynn, and Silas with 35 feet! Thank you to all the parents that volunteered!

📰 First grade was visited by Mary Herschelman from the Journal News this morning! As we continue learning about how stories are made and shared, we loved getting a behind-the-scenes look at our local newspaper and all it does for our community!

From reporting and writing stories to taking pictures, creating advertisements, and even printing the paper with a printing press and ink, there are so many special jobs that make the Journal News happen! 🖨️📰

Thank you, Journal News, for being such a wonderful extension of our learning!

🎉 Perfect Attendance Celebration! 🎉

We had 305 students earn perfect attendance for the month of September! Today, they were rewarded with popsicles and a movie during lunch. 🍦🎬 We enjoyed watching the live-action How to Train Your Dragon!

Next Friday marks the end of the first quarter. All students who have perfect attendance for the entire first quarter will get to enjoy a movie at the Orpheum Theatre on October 22nd! 🎥🍿

Great work, everyone! Keep up the fantastic attendance! 👏

🏒💙 CLASSROOM OF THE GAME! 💙🏒

So thankful to the Springfield Junior Blues for another AMAZING night! Mrs. Hammann's students got their own private box, ate tons of food from the concessions, got to go on the ice, and had seats right next to the action!

For many of Mrs. Hammann's students, this was their FIRST hockey game ever! She is so grateful the Junior Blues provide FREE tickets and give her kids an experience they’ll never forget.

🎃🚀 STEAM Club Group 1 was ready to LAUNCH!

Students had 1 hour, 2x4s, bungee cords, and a small container to design and build a pumpkin launcher. With an adult by their side, they measured, drilled, tested, problem-solved, and turned their ideas into REAL pumpkin-launching machines! 🔨🧠

And the results… 👀

🥇 40 feet
🥈 39 feet
🥉 15 feet

A little teamwork + a little engineering + a LOT of competition = one fun STEAM challenge! 🎃💥
