This month our Hilliard music school reached an exciting milestone — 200 families learning music with us each week.

What started as a small group of students has grown into an incredible community of young musicians, supportive parents, and inspiring teachers. Every lesson is another step in helping students build creativity, confidence, and the grit that comes from learning something challenging and meaningful.

*** STUDENT OPEN MIC AT OLENTANGY RIVER BREWING CO - 6/21 ***

The open mic will be hosted at the Olentangy River Brewing/Roosevelt Coffeehouse in Lewis Center, address included below-

Our open mics will be open to all students between the ages of 6 and 20 (as well as members of the community that would like to participate) and of course all are welcome to come and support the performers! The event will be on Wednesday, 6/21, starting at 12pm.

Please congratulate our September 2021 Student of the Month, Tre Foley! Below is a little bit about him:
What instrument do you play?
A: Piano!
How long have you taken lessons?
A: About 9 months.
What's your favorite kind of music?
A: Rock and Alternative.
What's your favorite song to practice?
A: Over the Rainbow.
What's the coolest thing you've learned in your lessons in the past three months?
A: I've learned a lot about piano, but I would probably say the coolest thing is learning different types of notes and how to play them in conjunction with the typical notes, like triplets.

What instrument do you play?
A: I play guitar.

How long have you taken lessons?
A: It has been almost a year since I started taking guitar lessons.

What's your favorite kind of music?
A: I like ROCK!

What's your favorite song to practice?
A: I enjoy practicing all the songs!

What's the coolest thing you've learned in your lessons in the past three months?
A: I really liked learning the song Dust In The Wind.

Exciting news: We are bringing back our Student of the Month program! Starting this month, we will showcase a student at each of our locations that has excelled in their instrument and in lessons, as nominated by their teacher.

Congratulations to our June Hilliard Music Academy Student of the Month, Zavier Gillenwater! Below is a little about themselves.

What instrument do you play?
A:Piano

How long have you taken lessons?
A: I've taken lessons for a year and a half.

What's your favorite kind of music?
A:I like rock and roll, but also listen to classical and Christian music frequently.

What's your favorite song to practice?
A:The Hiawatha Song is my favorite - I can be found banging it out on any random day.

What's the coolest thing you've learned in your lessons in the past three months?
A:Eighth note staccato and I have learned how to use a metronome.
