Everyone go outside and blow frozen bubbles!!! It's so cool watching them freeze over completely and then admire them as they POP! I always forget to do this when the weather is 'just right'. It's best when temperatures are in the single digits and little to no wind haha & if you're lucky enough to have a bit of sun shining on them, they are BEAUTIFUL ;)

Halloween Week was a BLAST!! Besides all the super-fun crafts and food art, we also talked a lot about what's real and what's pretend by exploring tons of costumes and reading books where we could discuss if things in the story could actually happen in real life or if they are make-believe. But just so everyone knows: unicorns ARE real! My students shared with me MANY eye-witness accounts to support this claim, from the usual singing, dancing, & playing with unicorns to sleeping and taking baths with unicorns. The most compelling evidence however, comes from one little girl who claims she can show me all the unicorn p**p that she's collected. Why their p**p? you might ask lol. "Because it's magic," she whispers to me with one finger over her lips showing me it's a huge secret.
Part of me is a little worried that she has "something" she really believes is magical unicorn p**p that she's keeping holed up in her bedroom somewhere LOL!!

When delving into our amazing eyes and what they do for us, it always floors me the things kids think they can do with their eyes closed lol! Usually, we try doing these things and the children quickly realize how very important our awesome sense of sight is :) maybe we won't attempt this one HA HA!
CHILD: I can probably drive a car with my eyes closed.
MS. MINDI: Well, you're 4 years old so you probably shouldn't even be driving a car with your eyes open.
CHILD: Well I can, cuz I know how... I'm pretty sure I can drive a car better than you.

It's 2 days in, and we are having a BLAST learning about our 5 senses and how they tell us what's happening around us!! With "guess that sound" listening games, exploring good and 'not so good' smells, and what better way to appeal to our sense of touch than by painting our hands and feet! So much more fun to come...

Hello! My name is Mindi Bloom, and I am proud to announce that I am your new dedicated Lead Provider for Little Roosters! Some of you may know me since I grew up in and graduated from Hill City, as well as having been the Summer Story Hour and Fun Friday Coordinator at the Graham Co. Public Library for the past twelve years :) I have 20 years of childcare/teaching experience with a variety of different environments, ages, & skill levels, and I can't wait to get back to doing what I love everyday. Early childhood education is my passion, especially when it comes to preparing preschool-aged kids for kindergarten, but I'm also excited to work with the younger kiddos when it's SO important for that learning and stimulation to start. I look forward to sharing ideas that will help Little Roosters and your children "bloom" into the best we can be together! We are aiming to open early-mid September 2024 and would love to hear from you if you're interested in possibly enrolling your child/children to come learn with us in a safe and welcoming place they will enjoy being a part of and want to come to everyday! Please include who you are, the number of spots you may be needing and if possible which days and times, the children's birthdate (age), and a way to contact you. We will be open Monday-Friday from 7:30am-5:30pm. Below you will find Little Roosters rates:

Full Time Infant (18 months and younger): $150 per week
Full Time Child (19 months and older): $125 per week
Part time is considered 2 days or less per week
Part time Infant (18 months and younger): $60 per week
Part time Child (19 months and older): $50 per week
After-school care during school year: $10 per day
School-age (5 yr. and older) full time during summer: $100 per week
Drop-In Infant: (18 months and younger): $35 per day
Drop-In Child: (19 months and older): $30 per day
*Part time/after school openings will be dependent on enrollment numbers*
