The summer ball season may be over, but there’s still plenty happening at the park! Our volunteers and local contractors are hard at work getting things ready for the 2027 season, and we’re so grateful for everyone helping these projects come together!
The concession stand expansion is nearly complete! M&R Constructions has been wrapping up a few finishing touches while we await delivery and installation of the new overhead doors from EZ Glide Doors.
New dugouts are taking shape on the north field, matching the style of the south field dugouts. Lyle's crew is hard at work constructing the south dugout, while Karl and his guys are pouring the footings and slabs for the west dugout. The worn areas around the old entrances have also received fresh sod to help get the field ready for spring.
The road between the two fields is gone! The Village of Hilbert removed the remaining gravel, and Brett with Stumpf Landscaping along with Karl regraded and seeded the area so it can grow in ahead of next season. Thank you Alex for delivering the bales!
These improvements take a lot of planning, coordination, equipment, and hard work. Thank you to every volunteer, contractor, Village members, and supporter helping move them forward. Whether you’ve spent time, provided talent, supplied material, lent equipment, or helped behind the scenes, your contribution matters to getting these projects across the finish line and improving our Hilbert Civic Park.
A Special thank you to Karl Propson, Brett Stumpf, Ron Ott, Michael Eichmeier, Pete Stephany, and Lyle Thiel for coordinating and working together the last of these changes for the year.
We couldn’t do this without you. Your efforts are building a better park for our kids, our families, and everyone who comes out to enjoy a summer night at the ballfield. We can’t wait to see everyone back in 2027!
