FB page for alumni of Oak Terrace Elementary School, as well as for past/present teachers & staff. Oak Terrace has been a landmark in Highwood since 1916.

It was built due to overcrowding at the Highwood School, which was located at 205 High Street. Nine acres of land were purchased from Lewis A. Pease at a cost of $3,500. The school was completed in 1916 and consisted of the main auditorium (formerly our Media Center/Library) and six classrooms. When the school opened, there were 187 students and six teachers. To our fellow 76-84 year-old OT/SJ/NW classmates (graduates of 1954-1962), please lock in your plans to join us for our upcoming October reunion events. . And given the interest that developed during our similar prior reunions, graduates from previous years are quite welcome to join us.

And finally, please feel free to also invite your good friends from Immaculate Conception or other HP elementary schools with whom we later attended HPHS or Catholic high schools.

The similar reunion six years ago was outstanding.
