VOโ‚‚ max may get most of the attention, but it doesn't tell the whole story.

For endurance athletes, performance isn't just about how much oxygen you can useโ€”it's about how long you can sustain a high level of effort before fatigue sets in. That's where lactate testing becomes one of the most valuable tools for coaches and athletes.

By measuring how the body responds to increasing exercise intensity, lactate testing helps identify training thresholds, optimize fueling strategies, and build the stamina needed to sustain faster paces for longer.

UESCA contributor Michael D. Weiss, M.S., ACSM: EP-C, EIM explores how lactate testing can improve coaching decisions and endurance performance in this latest blog post.

Tell me you're a swimmer without telling me you're a swimmer!

Are you a swimmer? Maybe a swimmer as a single sport athlete, or as a multisport athlete?

Which slide was the most relatable? What would you add?

Success isn't built in a single workout, it's built through the choices you make every day.

The workouts no one sees. The recovery you prioritize. The consistency you maintain when motivation fades.

Trust the process. Progress follows.

What daily habit has made the biggest difference in your training?

Be honest... are you this coach? ๐Ÿ˜…

Do you slightly underplay the hills on purpose, or do your athletes know exactly what they're signing up for? ๐Ÿ‘€โ›ฐ๏ธ

Every great coach starts with a passion to help others succeed.

The knowledge you gain, the encouragement you give, and the confidence you help build can have a lasting impact on the athletes you serve.

Keep learning. Keep leading. Keep inspiring.

Your impact is greater than you know.

Coach your passion.

Being a great coach doesn't automatically lead to a full client roster.

Many running coaches struggle with three common obstacles:
โœ”๏ธ Comparing themselves on social media
โœ”๏ธ Lacking a consistent sales strategy
โœ”๏ธ Feeling overwhelmed by endless business advice

The reality is that growing a successful coaching business isn't about chasing every trend or posting more oftenโ€”it's about communicating your value consistently and developing a repeatable process for attracting the right athletes.

In this latest UESCA blog, Nicole Dobransky, UESCA Coaching Mentor and founder of Runner Rising Academy, shares practical strategies to help coaches build a more sustainable and successful online coaching business.
