School Picture Day is Thursday, August 20th, for all grades!

Thursday, August 14, we are excited to welcome ALL students to Cresthill Middle School—including our AMAZING 8th graders!
(August 13th is for 6th and 7th graders only)

Here's what you need to know for August 14th:

Bring your school supplies! Classes officially begin, so come prepared and ready to learn.

Please print your schedule from Infinite Campus and bring it to school. Even if you think you've memorized it, having a printed copy is incredibly helpful during the first few days.

A quick reminder: Cell phones should remain silenced and stored in backpacks during the school day, so having a printed schedule is important.

Morning Arrival:
6th Grade: Report out in front of the school or the Small Gym.
7th & 8th Grades: Report out in front of the school or the Commons.

Our staff will be throughout the building to help students find their classes and answer any questions.

Regular school schedule begins! It's time to kick off an incredible year of learning, friendships, clubs, athletics, and new opportunities. Whether you're returning for another year or joining the Cougar family for the first time, we're so excited you're a part of the Cougar family!

Student schedules will be available in Infinite Campus on August 7. Please print your student's schedule at home and have them bring it on the first day of school, August 13 (for all 6th and 7th grade students only).

First Day Arrival
When students arrive on August 13, they'll look at their schedule to find their Advisement teacher and head to the track/football field, where teachers will be holding signs with their names. Students will enter the building together with their Advisement class.

A quick reminder: Cell phones should remain silenced and stored in backpacks during the school day, so having a printed schedule is especially helpful on Day 1.

A Few Tips for a Great First Day
--Print your student's schedule before August 13.
--Decide whether they'll bring a lunch or purchase one at school. Breakfast and lunch are FREE for all students! Students may bring extra money if they'd like to purchase additional snacks.
--Lunch numbers are the same as elementary school. New students will use their student ID number, and we'll gladly help anyone who needs it.
--There will be plenty of teachers and staff throughout the building during the first weeks of school to help students find their classes.
--Our students are incredibly welcoming! Encourage your child to look for a friendly face—and be one for someone else.

We know one of the biggest worries about starting middle school is getting lost. The good news? It usually only takes a day or two before students know exactly where they're going! We'll have adults throughout the hallways to guide them every step of the way. We've got them!

August 13: New Beginnings for 6th and 7th Graders!

The first day is dedicated to our New Beginnings experience for all 6th and 7th graders. While construction prevented us from holding our traditional summer event, we're excited that every student will now get to participate! The day will be filled with fun activities, games, meeting new friends, learning the building, and getting comfortable before classes begin in full on Day 2.
(Families who registered and paid for the original New Beginnings program will receive a refund in the coming weeks.)
We are so excited to welcome your students to Cresthill Middle School! It's going to be an amazing year, and we can't wait for them to experience all that it means to be a Cougar.

Cresthill Families,

For anyone who has their child signed up for New Beginnings or if you have an 8th Grade BIONIC student, please note that NEW BEGINNINGS has been CANCELLED due to unforeseen construction circumstances. Anyone who paid for New Beginnings will see a credit to your account. This may take a couple of weeks. Some are seeing the credit this week.
This cancellation was sent out in our most recent newsletter from the principal that went out Monday afternoon as well as communication from our counseling team.
I have posted it here for your reference.

It has come to our attention that some families have not seen this communication in their emails. We encourage you to check your SPAM folder. If you see it there please make sure you mark it as NOT SPAM so that you do not miss any additional communication. There is also a chance that our communication has been "blocked" from your email. You will have to go into your email settings to "unblock" anything coming from no-reply douglas county, smore, as well as anything that has my name on it, Jennifer Swanson.

We hope you all have had a wonderful summer, and we look forward to seeing 6th and 7th graders on August 13th and all students on August 14th.
