Ben Franklin Academy

Ben Franklin Academy Ben Franklin Academy (BFA) is a preschool through eighth grade Core Knowledge public charter school BFA also offers a tuition-based, Core Knowledge preschool.

Ben Franklin Academy (BFA) is a John Irwin School of Excellence and The STEAM School of Choice in Douglas County, Colorado. We are a kindergarten through eighth grade public, charter school that combines a challenging, sequenced curriculum with a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) as well as character education. BFA’s mission is to develop young adults with character like America’s founding Renaissance man, Benjamin Franklin: well-read, scientifically curious, and civically engaged. We are a data driven institution, focusing on individual students. Finally, we recognize that an education is incomplete without fostering the arts, sports, nature, and character. BFA participates in Douglas County School District's open enrollment process. See our website or the DCSD Open Enrollment webpage for additional details about the enrollment process and timeline.

Unlike the regular sign up for the library, you can sign up for as many slots as you would like. But please read the instructions prior to signing up.

📣 Want to support BFA’s SAC during the 2026–2027 school year?

We’d love to have you join a SAC subcommittee! 🤝

Participation is flexible, and many tasks can be completed independently from home. 🏡 Even if you’re unable to attend SAC meetings, you can still contribute through a subcommittee—an excellent way to earn volunteer hours on your own schedule! ⏰

👉 Click the link to let us know which subcommittee interests you. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSc8x69BVlVu3_DajCM9TPOwsUUWiRSWCSeTi-p3M5tqyvH_5A/viewform

We’ll reach out with more details! 📩
