Yesterday, we had the honor of celebrating National Girls & Women in Sports with DCSD — and recognized two incredible young women who represent everything this day stands for. 💛🖤

Logan Cary and Gianna Blanco, we are so proud of you.

Your dedication, resilience, leadership, and love for the game inspire more than just your teammates — you inspire the next generation of girls.

Sports build confidence. Sports build character. Sports build leaders. And you both embody all of it.

Thank you for representing our program, your school, and girls’ athletics with strength and grace. The future is bright — and it’s powered by young women like you. ✨

Congratulations to senior, Gianna Blanco, the 2026 Kyra Peck Volleyball Scholarship winner. The scholarship, open to senior varsity volleyball players, is meant to continue on the memory of Kyra and her spirit. The scholarship panel had many qualified applicants with great goals and dedication, all representing Kyra. This scholarship will live on year to year, as does Kyra’s memory in our program. Congratulations Gianna!
