It happened! I officially launched the Spirit of an Athlete podcast today!!

There are 3 episodes for your listening pleasure on YouTube or your favorite podcast platform.

Here’s the breakdown:

1) Your Brain is Holding Back Your Body!! Dr Laurel Mines is a Physical Therapist and Mental Performance Coach that shows me how my noisy knee has been holding me back for 25 years. Youch!! We also talk about equipmentnt and how that affects the physical game. And she shares the 6 areas of focus within the physical game.

2) We’re Basically Just Plants. I share the 5 secrets to focus on as an athlete (and a human) that are just like houseplants. You’ll walk away from this one treating yourself and your houseplants better 🌿💪

3) Are You a Dude? Christina Specos and I talk about some of the challenges we’ve faced as strength athletes related to gender and sexuality. We’re both biologically female, straight, in our 40s, and grew up in blue collarsr towns. That sets the stage for our experiences and opinions on these delicate topics.

Many of you have asked for a camp so you could attend from out of state. Now’s your chance!

The Battery is the source of power on any softball team, yet most coaches don’t know how to teach relationship building between a pitcher and a catcher.

THAT is what this camp is all about.

👀 Learn how to read your pitcher/catcher’s body language. Then learn how to talk to them about it EFFECTIVELY.

🗣️ Learn what to talk about before, during, and after a game to build this relationship and make it STRONGER.

🥎 Learn how to make each other better in practices when coach tells you to go throw a bullpen (unsupervised).

Off-season is coming. For some, off-season starts at the end of summer ball. For others, off-season starts at the end of Fall Ball.

Here's the thing about off-season, you have to strike a balance between REST and SKILL BUILDING.

Your body needs a break from all the hard work it put in over the season (summer, fall, rec, high school, travel, etc.).

BUT...

off-season is also the time to make the most gains in skills and strength. It's HARD to make progress during season because our body will revert back to what it knows best.

I hope you/your athlete finds the balance between rest and gains this off-season.

Here's what I'm offering to help through the end of the year to help you/your player with her skills in the off-season:

1) Private Lessons virtually and in-person (Denver Metro)
2) Momentum Clinic for Pitchers - Oct 8th
3) The Battery Camp - Nov 16-19th

You can find all these offerings at whitezonecoaching.com/products

Next clinic is for the catchers. Receive and React. That’s 2 parts of your job as a Fastpitch softball catcher. How can you receive the ball so it optimizes the strike zone? What’s the fastest way to react to ANY situation - bunts, base runners, past balls, wild pitches, relays? If your catcher needs work in these areas, this is your clinic on Sept 17 with whitezonecoaching.com/products
