It's Day 4 of National School Breakfast Week, and we are still celebrating! Take a look at these delicious Cinnamon Rolls at Highland Middle School!

Our Southridge Elementary School cafeteria also prepared Banana Split Parfaits this morning. The kids loved them so much that they ran out of stock and had to rush to make more!

Today is Day 2 of National School Breakfast Week, and it was a big success! Warren Elementary School had breakfast tacos, while Merkley Elementary School prepared overnight oats.

Thank you to our cafeteria staff for making these wonderful meals!

Welcome back to school! We hope everyone had a great winter break. Here's a quick update as we begin the second semester.

Starting today, students will not be given change at the register when paying with cash; instead, the leftover change will be deposited into their Mealtime account for future use.

This change is being implemented for efficiency reasons - we want to make sure that students get through the line as quickly as possible so they have more time to eat, talk with friends at the lunch table, and get back to class on time.

Parents can request a refund of the money deposited into their Mealtime account through the Food Services department.

Our schools will have their Thanksgiving lunches soon! Here's the schedule:

Highland High School - Thursday, November 13
Highland Middle School - Thursday, November 13
Johnston Elementary School - Thursday, November 20
Merkley Elementary School - Thursday, November 20
Southridge Elementary School - Thursday, November 20
Warren Elementary School - Friday, November 14

All schools (except HHS) will be serving turkey as the main entrée, and students can enjoy a variety of sides, including stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, roasted corn, delicious desserts, and more. Since the high school students love popcorn chicken so much, we decided to make that the main entrée at HHS instead!

Today was the last day of celebrating National School Lunch Week! At Johnston Elementary School, the students had delicious One-Eyed Tacos. At Highland High School, Greek food was served up!

While this may be the end of National School Lunch Week for us (happy fall break!), our cafeterias go above and beyond all year to provide excellent food for our students. We are so thankful for them every single day!

We had another fun day celebrating National School Lunch Week! Today, Highland High School served up some Brazilian food (cilantro lime rice with black beans & garlic plantains), and Johnston Elementary School had delicious Ghost Bosco Sticks and a Graveyard Pudding Mix.

Our cafeteria staff is the best - thank you for preparing such great meals for our students!

Today was super fun - Johnston Elementary School served up Mummy Dogs and Spider Jello, and Warren Elementary School had some delicious Chinese food!

Here's your reminder that all of our schools serve great breakfast in the morning before school! You can get delicious food such as cinnamon rolls, breakfast sandwiches / pizzas, banana bread, and more. Here is when breakfast is served:

HS: 7:00am-7:25am
MS: 8:00am-8:20am
Elementary: 7:20am-7:45am

Beep beep!

There is always so much to clean up at the end of lunch! Over at Southridge Elementary School, Miss Cassie had the idea of creating "Cassie's Café Cruiser" - a portable cart to bring around to kids that helps tremendously with cleaning up. It gets the kids excited to pick up their trash and collect trays, which is always a good thing!

The Food Services Department has some important information for you as the 2025-26 school year gets closer and closer!

First, please visit the cafeterias during Back to School night! Our wonderful kitchen managers will have important information for you and can also accept payments via cash or check.

There are also a few updates about prices and balances. First, the meal prices for paid eligibilities have increased this year by $0.25. Additionally, the grace period for last year’s free or reduced price lunch eligibility ends on 9/25/2025. Please make sure you fill out an application for free or reduced price meals as soon as possible. The application and necessary information can be found on the Food Services website.

Regarding balances: if students have a negative account balance of any amount, they will not be allowed to purchase A La Carte food items. If a student brings cash to purchase A La Carte items, they have the option of giving the cashier the money to put toward the negative balance, but cannot purchase A La Carte items. Additionally, current negative balances of -$50 and up will be sent to collections at the end of August, so please make the necessary payments to avoid this. We strongly encourage parents to check account balances regularly.

Finally, don’t forget to download the My MealTime app for easy access to submit payments to your student’s account. You will need your child’s student ID number. You also have the ability to create automatic recurring payments, which is an easy way to ensure that accounts stay positive and current. There is a small fee associated with submitting payments.
