Certified Driving School

Certified Driving School Teaching teenagers to drive in Northwest Indiana since 1972. Certified has been teaching Driver's Education since 1972. Mr. Mazur and his son, Michael.

It was established by Jerry Mazur, who at the time was a Biology teacher at Andrean High School. Mazur taught for a total of 39 years: 9 at Andrean and 30 years at Highland High School. We also offer classes in our Crown Point office, and drive students who have taken an on-line driver's education program. We have 2 locations: Highland and Crown Point. The Crown Point office is also operated by Mr

. Certified Driving School serves all of Northwest Indiana, including Lake, Porter, Jasper, and Newton Counties. Certified has a staff of over 30 instructors of which the vast majority are either current teachers or retired teachers of local school systems.

Both the Highland and Crown Point offices will have class tonight at 6 PM. If this is going to be your first class, please bring a notebook and pen with you.

The Highland office will continue to be closed today, Saturday August 15 due to no internet and phone services due to the ongoing outages. We hope to reopen on Monday, August 17 at noon. Please do not leave us a voicemail unless you are cancelling a drive.

All scheduled drive tests and drives will continue.

Please be patient with us next week as we try to catch up.

The Highland office will be closed today, August 13 and Friday, August 14 as we have no phones or internet due to the power outages. We are hoping to reopen on Saturday. Please do not leave us a voicemail unless you are canceling a drive. Also, please be patient with us as we try to catch up. 

There is no Thursday night 6 pm class.

Friday’s and Saturday’s drives will continue as scheduled.

Due to the ongoing storms and hazardous road conditions, all drives in both the Highland and Crown Point offices are cancelled for today, August 12. Drive tests in Crown Point are also cancelled.

Also there is no class in Crown Point tonight, Wednesday August 12 and there will be no class in Highland tomorrow, Thursday August 13. The missed chapter will be made up on Monday along with the scheduled chapter for that date.

Please check back for updates about drives for Thursday, August 13.
