As adults, we know why manners are so important. For one thing, people respond more positively to someone who exhibits good manners. Still, when our kids are young, it can be tempting to overlook poor manners. After all, our little ones are so darn cute! But they grow up fast, which means bad manners quickly become off-putting. Start teaching good behavior early. Then by the time they are 8 or 9 years old, your child is ready for more formal instruction.
