Due to the growing impact of not only the Line Fire, but from the fires in Los Angeles and Orange Counties, and out of an abundance of caution, the Board of Education has taken action during an emergency meeting to close all SBCUSD schools and offices for the remainder of the week. The decision was made based on ensuring the safety and well-being of our students, staff and families as we navigate these challenging times.

We understand this closure may cause challenges for many families, and we appreciate your patience and understanding. We will provide regular updates using various communication methods to keep you informed of any changes and plans for reopening. In the meantime, please prioritize your safety and follow all guidance from local authorities regarding evacuations or safety precautions.

It was a great first day of school at Lankershim Elementary School. We were so excited to welcome our scholars back on campus. We are looking forward to seeing them again tomorrow.
