Hi Everyone,

So I get to work with people who have their hands in all different kinds of music projects. I wanted to introduce you to one of my students who goes by "Grey" on YouTube. She has ambitions to become an "Utaite" (歌い手), a Japanese internet-based cover artist, predominantly known for posting vocaloid, anime, and original song covers. Emerging from the "utattemita" (I tried to sing) culture, these artists often remain anonymous, sometimes using VTuber avatars. Although Grey doesn't have an avatar yet, she does her own animation for the content that she posts. If you are on Youtube give her a follow, she has more songs on the way!

Congrats to my student Adwoa Anto on getting cast in her first Musical "Mary Poppins" a few months back! She got to play the Suffragette, Marionette Toy, Clerk, and Board Member with Villagers Theatre in Somerset, NJ. She had quite a successful first round of local auditions, getting cast in two out of the three shows she went in for, and called back for the third. Great work! I look forward to seeing what this year brings!

Congrats to Kim Vasaturo whose band "Soul Stew" was asked to play a featured set recently at Kumo in Kendall Park, NJ as part of a big holiday concert event. It's basically their first gig outside of the open mic scene. Great work Kim and band, keep getting out there!

Michael Smith has been doing great things! He was recently studying abroad in Europe working for the Irish Music Rights Organization, a PRO for Ireland, doing music licensing & legal work. He and I worked both in person and remotely during his studies. Many BVS students not only perform/record, but end up in other places in the music industry. Continued success and travels to you Michael! Keep singing, you have a great instrument!

Connor Chan is on fire! Achieved Honors for his final grade in 2025 at the Teen Arts NJ Arts High and was accepted again for another term. Accepted and Rated #1 Baritone in the region for the CJMEA Middle School choir division. He has been opening up swim meets with the National Anthem, and was just selected to be a featured soloist in the Rise Up Community Arts Phoenix Cabaret. Keep up the good work Connor!
