Barber Preparatory Academy Welcome to Barber Preparatory Academy! We are a tuition free, PK-8 public charter school Welcome to Barber Preparatory Academy—Home of the Eagles!

We are a tuition-free, public community school in the Highland Park School District open to all PK-8 students. We teach an accredited, college prep curriculum and use technology daily in each classroom to accelerate student learning and readiness. Our school is newly under the management of ACCEL Schools, an established and award-winning public charter school operator. Our safe, secure campus features a brand new school library and we offer full-day, Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs.

July 13 – August 21, 2026

The Countdown to a Strong School Year Begins Now!

Juneteenth & the Fourth of July celebrations are behind us... now it's time to get focused! Over the next six weeks, we're challenging every Barber Prep scholar to sharpen their skills, keep their minds active, and get ready for an amazing start to the new school year.

Remember, if your family hasn't picked up your Summer Learning Kit (workbook and learning game), you can stop by the school office during summer office hours to pick it up.

📱 Weekly Facebook Challenge

Each week, post a picture, video, or comment showing your scholar learning!

Ideas include:

Completing workbook pages

Reading a book

Playing the learning game

Visiting the library

Doing a family learning activity

Every weekly check-in earns a chance to win prizes during our Back-to-School Celebration!
