Please join us in congratulating Boys Varsity Soccer Coach Kenneth Hall on an incredible milestone — 250 career victories! 🎉

Coach Hall, who also serves as a Special Education Teacher at Highland Falls Intermediate School, reached this remarkable achievement on Tuesday, September 2, 2026, as JIO defeated Haldane 2–1.

This milestone represents so much more than wins on the scoreboard. It reflects years of dedication, leadership, mentorship, and a commitment to helping student-athletes grow both on and off the field.

Congratulations, Coach Hall, on an extraordinary accomplishment! Your impact on our students, athletes, and community is truly something to celebrate. 👏⚽

In preparation for tonight's Remembrance Bowl, JIO's Varsity Football team and their opponents from Beacon HS attended a presentation on the history surrounding the game, met with representatives from the Remembrance Project, signed special commemorative jerseys, and enjoyed a pasta dinner together. The Remembrance Bowl itself will take place tonight with pre-game ceremonies starting at 6:00 PM and kickoff at 6:30.

HFFMCSD community,

As we look forward to the upcoming football game tomorrow, we want to share some important parking information ahead of the event.

We are anticipating a larger-than-usual crowd for the football game on Thursday, September 10th at 6:30 pm. As a courtesy to our families, the district is offering additional parking at the Highland Falls Intermediate School (HFIS), with shuttle bus service to and from James I. O'Neill High School.

Parking & Shuttle Details:

HFIS parking lot opens at 5:30 PM
Shuttle buses will run continuously between the HFIS parking lot and JIO throughout the evening
Bus pickup and drop-off at HFIS will take place in the bus circle
Bus pickup and drop-off at JIO will be in the back circle of the high school near the tennis courts
Please Note: Students under the age of 18 will not be permitted to ride the shuttle bus without a parent or guardian present. There are no exceptions.

We encourage families who anticipate a busy parking lot at JIO to take advantage of this additional parking and shuttle option. As always, thank you for your continued support of our students.

🏈 Honoring Service Through Sport: The Remembrance Bowl Comes to JIO

This Thursday, September 10 at 6:30 PM, James I. O’Neill High School welcomes Beacon High School for the inaugural Remembrance Bowl—a game rooted in history, service, and remembrance.

JIO is one of just four high schools in the country selected to participate in this partnership with The Remembrance Project.

The History
In 1944, during WWII, soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division organized a Christmas Day football game in Reims, France—the “Champagne Bowl”—to boost morale. When German forces launched a surprise attack, the soldiers left the game behind to join the Battle of the Bulge. The game became known as “The Game That Never Happened.”

🏈 The Tradition Lives On
Today, the Remembrance Bowl honors those soldiers through football, bringing together military history, sportsmanship, and remembrance.

📚 Remembrance Week at JIO
Leading up to Thursday’s game, students across JIO are exploring lessons connected to D-Day, civic duty, service, and our local legacy. JIO’s Patriotism Club is also helping bring students and community members together through events throughout the week.

🤝 On Thursday, JIO and Beacon players will gather to learn, share a meal, and exchange commemorative jerseys as a symbol of unity, respect, and remembrance.

As we commemorate the 25th anniversary of September 11th, HFFMCSD is coming together to support O’Neill graduate Connor Boyer, who is currently serving overseas as an Army Ranger.

We invite our faculty, staff, students, and families to help us send a little Raider strength overseas through our care package drive. Please see the flyer for donation ideas and drop-off information.
