Tonight is the final night of our APS Backpack Adventure at the Akron Zoo!

Wednesday, August 12 | 4–8 PM

Free zoo admission for K–5 APS students and two guests ($3 for extras, under 2 free). Free backpacks and school supplies (while they last!) Parking is free.

The 2026–2027 school year is almost here, APS! Mark your calendars and get ready to welcome our scholars back to school.

Here are the first days of school:

- Aug. 12: Grade 9 at Akron Early College High School and STEM High School
- Aug. 13: Grades 10–12 at Akron Early College High School and Grades 10–11 at STEM High School
- Aug. 14: Grade 12 at STEM High School
- Aug. 27: Grades 1–12 at all APS schools
- Aug. 31: Preschool and Kindergarten
