Hello Southwest Guildford Middle School family! My name is Dr. Dante Webb and I am the new incoming chorus teacher! I am originally from Memphis, Tennessee where I received my Bachelor and Master degree from The University of Memphis in Choral Music Education. I earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Music Education - from The Florida State University. I have a 6 month old son who is the love of my life! In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, spending time with my son, working out, and playing my PS5!

👋 Hello, Southwest Community!💚

My name is Lindsay Brake and I am excited to introduce myself as a new 7th grade ELA teacher at Southwest 🍎📚. I’ve spent the last 24 wonderful years as a teacher, literacy coach, and curriculum facilitator with Guilford County Schools, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue serving in a community I’m proud to call home.

When I’m not at school, I enjoy reading 📖, going to the beach 🏖️, and crafting ✂️, but most days you’ll find me driving my six amazing kids to all their activities 🚗💨—with my trusty friend, Google Calendar, keeping us all in the right place at the right time 📅😆. Our family lives in the community, and my children attend local schools, which makes this role especially meaningful to me 🏡❤️.

I’m looking forward to building relationships, supporting our students, and partnering with families 🤝✨. I’m thankful to serve where I live and can’t wait for a great year ahead!

Please welcome Mr. Pete Jackson-Woods to the ELA team!

Hello everyone! I am Mr. Woods, and it feels great to be back teaching our Cowboys and Cowgirls! Some of you may recognize me, while for others I may be a new face, but I am truly excited for the upcoming 2026–2027 school year.

Those who know me know that I love working with kids probably even more than I love Doritos! My goal is to provide every student with the skills, support, and encouragement they need to succeed both inside and outside of the classroom.

I am a graduate of Fayetteville State University and also a proud graduate of Guilford County’s very own The Academy at Smith. Originally, I am from the small town Southport, NC.

I look forward to building relationships, creating a positive classroom environment, and making this a fun and successful school year for everyone!

I am very excited to be a part of the Southwest community. For the past 23 years, I have worked with middle and high school students with disabilities, including students with mild to severe intellectual disabilities and autism. I am passionate about helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally while building meaningful relationships with them and their families. Family is very important to me, and I am married with one adult son. In my free time, I love relaxing at the beach and spending time with my dog.

Greetings! My name is Angela Smith and I am thrilled to be a part of the Cowboy family. This year will be my 23rd year teaching and I have the same excitement and passion as I did year one. I am a wife, Mama, and Grammi to two wonderfully adorable little boys. I love music so it's not odd to see me humming, singing, or dancing to whatever song is in my head. I am so excited to come to the ranch and, I can't wait to meet the students and families of Southwest Guilford Middle School ! I know this is going to be a fantastic year!

About him: Hello I’m Mr.Kirkman. I am super excited to join everyone at The Ranch next year and help students explore a wide variety of career paths and opportunities. I have a deep love for sports and love to cheer on my Baltimore ravens, Carolina Tar Heels, and Carolina hurricanes.
