At High Point University, students begin building real-world skills from day one.

In a new biology lab course, first-year students are gaining hands-on research experience early in their college careers. With access to advanced laboratory spaces and close faculty mentorship, students are making meaningful scientific discoveries while developing critical thinking, confidence, and practical experience that prepares them for graduate school and professional pathways.

Tyler Matthew, an HPU '25 Biology major, will continue his education and pursue his Doctorate of Dental Surgery.
