A little new moon love for y’all, spontaneously captured today, because I had just offered a private sound session to dear friends in need of soothing space, and well, why not?

Who cares that my I-phone fails to capture my gorgeous new crystal babes (thank u ) with crystal clarity. I hereby release all f***s, sending this out in all its perfect imperfect-ness. Balancing perfectionism with generosity.

This goes out to u with prayers that this Libra new moon brings balance to what has felt like a swirling whirling tidal wave of a new season.

Big gratitude to songstress thru whom I recently discovered and fell in love with this traditional song. Check out her new album — her voice is medicine.

The past many months of quarantine Zoom life are pushing me to seriously stretch myself. I have a long and sordid (kidding, not kidding) relationship with technology, but this summer while in a group program with my dear friend and coach .whitney (a whole other post for how awesome she is), I made a decision to push thru my limiting beliefs and take a leap.

This is my first attempt at synching up video and audio (not exactly brain surgery, but it took a hot second 😅). I’m learning how to record audio with more sensitivity (🙏 to for his guidance) and finding myself spending hours troubleshooting and watching YouTube instructional videos.

I’ve been up against a GIANT mountain of my own resistance. But the phrase that keeps coming up for me is:
👉🏽the only way out is through👈🏼

And, lesson learned (baby steps!): next time I’ll record video horizontally.
😂🤷🏻‍♀️

May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may all of our thoughts and actions contribute to that freedom and happiness.

‘Nuf said, really. One of the first mantras I learned, decades ago now, and it never gets old. It feels like the sound medicine for today...The air feels heavy and turbulent, we had our first snow here in the Hudson Valley. May this diffuse some of the frenetic, divisive energy, and help us all remember that we are all related.

I’ve ***really*** been feeling this medicine song invoking Kali, the Divine Mother, these past few days.

In both the Hindu and Ta***ic traditions, Kali is multi-faceted - both the Divine Mother and a powerful, even ruthless destroyer. For me, she conjures up images of the fierce mama bear who will rip to pieces anyone who comes too close to her cubs. She is Mother Nature herself, primordial, creative, nurturing and devouring. She cuts through what needs to go, burns up that which is no longer serving us, so that the new can spring forth.

I offer this song as a prayer that what needs to be destroyed, both in the personal and the collective right now - the injustices, suffering, and inequities - be destroyed in the best way, with the hand of Divine Mother. One that will serve the birth of a (please Goddess) more just world.

In the vast sea of canceled plans, I’m so happy to say that this one remains on the schedule. We’ll be gathering together - online, as is the new normal - for a weekend of exploring deep listening, and cultivating peace through the power of sound, voice, and mantra. This training is an annual offering of and I’m forever grateful to who first invited me to co-facilitate it with her five years ago.
