Our wonderful Mrs. Williams who teaches both Art and STEAM now has been busy!

In Art 4th graders are constructing their graffiti walls for our Banksy project. They learned about safety with tools and were super excited to use our new gloves to help protect at hands.

Kindergarten created line families with Larry the line snake and learned about Kandinsky’s abstract expressionism artwork. They also started a color unit with Mousepaint. Learning about primary and secondary colors.

In STEAM Kindergarten,1st, and 2nd have been learning about structure and function and the engineering process. They have had to create a Beanstalk that stands from Jack and the Beanstalk. This week it’s the 3 little pigs and the big bad wolf. They are doing stations where they have to use a variety of materials to build a structure that withstands being blown away.

3rd, 4th and 5th graders are studying life cycles and survival. They have been focused on honeybees the last few weeks. They will be doing a honeybee hive simulation this coming week and be comparing living in a group versus living a solitary life like carpenter bees. They eventually will be creating a hive with a variety of materials.

We are so incredibly thankful for everything you do for our school and our staff!
We have many Thank You cards created by the 2nd grade classes to shower you with at your October meeting (along with a sweet treat as well)!

We are very lucky to have such a supportive group of people who are there for us teachers and our students.
