To Our Husker Community,

This year, the annual Lafayette County C-1 Homecoming Parade on Friday, September 18, coincides with the Higginsville Country Fair. The LCC-1 School District appreciates the longstanding cooperation and support of the Higginsville community and Husker Nation.

The school district has worked proactively with the City of Higginsville to adapt our Homecoming Parade to address this conflict. This week, the city approved a new parade route that we will be using this year. For this year, our parade route will encircle the district campus. The parade will start from the West Gym parking at the middle school entrance, proceed east on 31st Street, turn south along Spruce Street, then move west on 34th Street, ending at the south entrance of the football stadium. We do ask that spectators not park on the school-side of these streets out of safety concerns, as our students will be lining the sidewalks to watch the parade.

The time of the parade will change as well. This year, it will begin at noon. At 12:30 pm, there will be a pep assembly at the football stadium where the community is invited to attend. The grass areas on each side of the home bleachers will be open to the public – feel free to bring lawn chairs to sit and enjoy the festivities.
