Nassau BOCES Adult Education

On January 21, we held a certificate ceremony to celebrate the 34 students who completed the Adult Education Entry-Level Career Training Program.

The Adult Education Entry-Level Career Training Program helps students develop professional skills and obtain employment in one of these trades: auto technician, building maintenance, childcare, direct service professional, food service, office clerk, pet care/grooming, porter/custodial, and stock and inventory. Job placement specialists work closely with students throughout the semester to arrange appropriate job placement and provide support services.

Long Island is home to thousands of manufacturing companies representing a wide range of regional, national and global industries.

Attend an information session on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 10 a.m. - noon at HempsteadWorks, 50 Clinton Street, Hempstead, NY to learn more about the diverse career opportunities in advanced manufacturing and ways to obtain training and entry-level employment.

The new Nassau BOCES and EPIC Long Island Direct Support Professional (DSP) program provides the training, skills and certification needed to obtain employment in this in-demand and rewarding field.

DSPs play a vital role in helping individuals with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities live independent, fulfilling lives. Participants will earn CPR Basic Live Support Certification and Approved Medication Assistive Personnel (AMAP) Certification.
