Trinity Lutheran School, Hicksville NY In 1850, four Hicksville families gathered for the purpose of organizing a church. That first church stood on the south side of West Nicholai Street.

Trinity Lutheran School's Mission is to provide a Christ-centered education, from Early Childhood through High School, where diversity and enthusiasm for learning are celebrated. A surge of membership growth came during the 1950's. This sudden burst of population brought about the necessity of a Christian School. Under the leadership of Pastor Edward Stammel, Trinity Lutheran School began its existence in 1952. The original school was a branch of Nassau Christian School in Mineola. By 1954, after witnessing the great blessing which God had poured upon them, Trinity accepted the challenge of building a school for its own purposes. Thus the 1954-1955 school year found Trinity Lutheran School as an independent parish school of the Trinity congregation. During that year, a total of 270 children were enrolled in the school.

What an amazing day for our 5th graders at the Fire Island Lighthouse!
Our students climbed 182 steps to the top of the lighthouse and were rewarded with incredible views stretching from out East toward NYC. They also learned how lighthouse keepers helped rescue passengers from stranded boats using a pulley system and enjoyed a nature walk through the beautiful surroundings.
It was a fantastic day filled with adventure, hands-on learning, teamwork, and lots of fun! We’re so proud of our 5th graders for making the most of this incredible experience!

The 5th grade completed an activity to learn how organisms obtain energy. Students were asked to identity consumers and producers and further identify producers into the sub categories of herbivores, omnivores, carnivores, or decomposers. Hands on learning is always the best!
