Seniors and staff welcomed students in, and the 2026-2027 House Competition got started right away!

If Friday was any indication, we are READY for a new school year!

After an inspiring morning with Ron Clark, we shifted gears for the afternoon. The music went up, the energy stayed high, and our staff got to take center stage.

They had professional photos taken, played games, got a little competitive, laughed A LOT, and thanks to the generosity of our amazing community, we were able to give away some pretty great prizes along the way!

Yes, the afternoon was FUN, but there was a purpose behind all of it. We wanted to celebrate the people who make our district what it is and make sure they know just how much they are appreciated.

We called the day Back to School: Reignited, and after two days together, we’d say the name fits pretty well!

Because TOMORROW our classrooms come alive, and our students are BACK!

How do you REIGNITE for a new school year? You invite THE Ron Clark to Hicksville, Ohio to surprise our staff! ♥️♠️♣️♦️

So much of what we do at in our district is rooted in the Ron Clark philosophy. From the Hicksville Essentials and our House System to setting high expectations and building a school culture where every student can succeed, his influence can be seen throughout our district.

Today, we had the incredible opportunity to hear from Ron Clark himself. His message was motivating, inspiring, applicable, and filled with real world examples that challenged us to bring energy, passion, and purpose into the year ahead.

It was exactly what we needed to kick off our day and REIGNITE our staff for a new school year.

Thank you, Mr. Clark, for spending the morning with us! Safe travels back to Atlanta!! ♥️♠️♣️♦️

House Shirt Fundraiser Forms will be available outside the LMC this evening at Open House and during the first week of school for any students who would like to order a new house color shirt!  

Shirts are $12.  

Forms and payment will be due to a Staff House Leader the school week of September 8th.  

Remember, 3rd grade students will receive their first official shirt later this Fall!
