Catawba Valley Community College is excited to announce the President’s List and Dean’s List for the Spring 2026 semester! To make the President’s List, students must maintain a GPA of 3.8 to 4.0, while the Dean’s List recognizes students with a GPA of 3.5 to 3.799.

Congratulations to our talented students, advisors, and SkillsUSA chapter on an outstanding showing at the 2026 SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference!
CVCC once again demonstrated its national leadership in career and technical education, earning multiple honors at the 2026 SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference held June 1-5 in Atlanta, Georgia.
CVCC students brought home three gold medals, two silver medals, two bronze medals, and numerous top ten finishes while competing against the nation’s best career and technical education students. In addition, CVCC was recognized as a Gold Chapter of Distinction and captured the prestigious Outstanding Chapter Award in the postsecondary division.

Nominations are now open for the 2026 CVCC Distinguished Alumni Award!
Annually, the Catawba Valley Community College Alumni Association honors an Alumnus/Alumna who exemplifies the values and mission of CVCC through significant professional achievement, leadership and service.
To be eligible, candidates must have earned a certificate, degree or diploma from CVCC and demonstrate one or more of the following:
Achievement and Leadership: Exceptional accomplishment and leadership within their profession, career field, business, and/or industry;
Service to Community: Recognition for meritorious service and positive contributions to their community at the local, state, and/or national level (professionally or personally);
Connection to Alma Mater: Outstanding service, engagement, or support of Catawba Valley Community College and its mission; and/or
Educational Impact: Acknowledgement of the transformative impact of their CVCC education and/or student experience as foundational to their personal and professional success.
Nominees should reflect integrity, achievement, and a commitment to service that brings honor and distinction to the College and its Alumni community. The nomination period ends on August 15, 2026 at midnight.

This course is ideal for unemployed or underemployed adults looking to strengthen digital, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Registration Information: Individuals enrolling in courses offered through the Human Resources Development (HRD) Program may be granted a waiver of registration fees if they meet one of four criteria:
1) Are unemployed
2) Have received notification of pending layoff
3) Are working and are eligible for the federal earned income tax credit
4) Are working and earning wages at or below two hundred percent (200%) of the federal poverty guidelines.
