ATR Firearms Training

ATR P2 protection pistol skills class yesterday. We changed our approach from curriculum driven to goals driven and it was one of the most rewarding days as an instructor. Everybody “got it”.
We took a lot of pics but I guess Facebook would not let me post them 🫤.
Thanks to ATR instructors Brian, Thomas, and Jen for helping keep things organized and productive all day.
Congrats to Adam for earning yet another Top Dog award and ATR pin.

ATR Protection Pistol Skills class yesterday was a blast. We changed up the class from a curriculum base to a goals based format. Worked on fewer things, but on the most important things and coached and repped them out. Was long the more gratifying days as an instructor as everybody “got it”. They improved before our eyes and can take those gains with them, as well as coach themselves into even more gains over time. Thanks ATR instructors Brian, Thomas, and Jen for helping make the day organized and productive for everyone. Congrats to Adam for winning (yet another) top dog award and ATR pin!

ATR Protection Shotgun 1 class went great this past Saturday at CVRP club. Did not get many pictures, but we had great students and Brian and I enjoyed working with them all day. It’s always a favorite of the students and the instructors alike.
Can’t wait to do it again.

Brian ran a fantastic and Concealed Carry class yesterday. Great time, safe, and we had some great shooters including a fairly new shooter using a borrowed pistol who shot well. It’s amazing what motivated folks can do when they apply the teaching. Very gratifying. One of our other students came in with the skills but missed out on the perfect target when he got some hot brass down the back. He handled it very safely though. We love working with our students and can’t wait to do it again.

Rifle Renaissance, inaugural chapter.
Thanks to the folks at The Complete Combatant (Brian and Shelley Hill et al.) for organizing this amazing 3 day epic training event. Grant and I drove to north Georgia (grants first training event outside of ATR) to learn at the feet of the masters, including Brian hill, Shane Kerwin, Adam Winch, and AJ Zito. Also was nice having heavy hitters like Tyler Tharp in our group as a fellow student). I loved it, but Grant really ate it up, soaking the up knowledge and mentorship that was there in abundance. Got to see some old friends, though my group was mostly new-to-me folks, and making new friends worked out very well too.
Grant went into the weekend with a 5-day old broken big toe, and me with a recently post op knee and tennis elbow. We tore it up on the first two days, but took it easy on day 3. That said, Adam talked him into shooting Adam’s challenge wit Adam’s rifle, and Grant went 1:1 earning one of the available victory runes. Grant’s weekend was really topped off when he won a huge door prize contributed by the Georgia Firing Line. Thanks guys!!
Came home tired but already can’t wait to do it again!
