University Christian High School UCHS is uniquely qualified to educate, support, and prepare students for college & beyond. The school's location in the St.

University Christian High School offers students in the Hickory area the opportunity to receive a strong academic education in a Christian environment. University Christian High School is in partnership with Lenoir-Rhyne University. Andrew's Lutheran Church building on the LRU campus allows students to use the university's athletic facilities, cafeteria, library and science labs. Qualified Juniors and Seniors have the opportunity to take most of their courses as college classes that count as both high school and college credit. Any of the entry-level classes offered at LRU are available to UCHS students providing a selection of classes more extensive than any other high school in the area. Students may graduate from high school with up to 30 hours of college credit.

DID YOU KNOW… one of our teachers has a second life on the stage?

🌟 When he’s not inspiring students at UCHS, you might find Kurt Sigmon under the bright lights!

He’s been performing in community theatre since 2009, with roles in The Music Man, Mary Poppins, Sweeney Todd, Bright Star, and Hello, Dolly! And now, he’s taking the stage in The Green Room Community Theatre’s production of Come From Away.

This powerful musical tells the incredible true story of nearly 7,000 passengers and crew members who found unexpected kindness and hospitality in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, after their flights were diverted following September 11, 2001.

And because one character just isn’t enough…each of the 12 actors plays multiple roles! Mr. Sigmon takes on Nick, a British businessman and passenger, and Doug, a Newfoundland air traffic controller.
