Welcome, Dr. Anthony!

Hickory City Schools is excited to welcome Dr. Jessica Anthony as the new principal of Viewmont Elementary School!

Dr. Anthony brings extensive experience as a teacher, assistant principal, and elementary school principal. Most recently, she served as principal of Davenport A+ Elementary, where she led efforts to increase student achievement while strengthening the school's arts-integrated program.

With a passion for language acquisition and family engagement, Dr. Anthony is especially excited to support Viewmont's Dual Language Program and continue building strong relationships with students, staff, and families.

Hickory City Schools is excited to launch our new Rooted in Reading Summer Reading Challenge for students in Pre-K through 6th grade from June 1 – August 31!

Students can:
✅ Earn FREE monthly reading rewards
✅ Watch weekly read-aloud videos featuring HCS staff & community members
✅ Earn a BONUS local event voucher after meeting goals all summer long!

Parents will set and track monthly reading goals using a reading app, making it easy to keep students engaged in reading throughout the summer.

Summer meals are back! ☀️

Hickory City Schools is offering meals at no cost for children ages 18 and under this summer, with two convenient options for families:

✔️ Weekly meal pick-up (3-day or 7-day boxes)
✔️ Daily meals on site at select locations

If you already know your summer plans, we encourage you to complete the registration form to help us prepare enough meals for all children.

📅 Program runs May 28 – August 13
