This past week we celebrated seven incredible educators as they begin a new chapter, retirement! 🎉🍎
Thank you for the countless lives you have touched, the lessons you have taught, and the love and dedication you have poured into education throughout your careers. Your impact will be felt for years to come through the students, families, and colleagues you have inspired along the way.

Today we gathered together for a special retirement lunch celebration honoring our 7 amazing teachers and staff members as they begin a new chapter. Kindergarten Screening is coming up on June 3! 🎉
If you have a child who will be 5 years old on or before August 31, 2026, they are eligible to register for Kindergarten for the 2026-2027 school year!
To register and schedule your child’s screening, please call the school at 828-294-2020 and ask to speak with Beth Shaffer. She can provide more information about what documents are needed for registration and what to expect during screening day.
Kindergarten Screening is an important time for our teachers to meet incoming students, gather helpful information, and help prepare for a successful start to the school year. We can’t wait to meet our future Wildcats! 🐾

Today we honored Mrs. Houser with the Legacy Leader Award, a tribute to the incredible impact, love, and leadership she brought to Mountain View each and every day.
To celebrate her legacy, we placed a Christmas tree in the media center that will remain lit all year long, reminding us daily of the light she brought to our school. Each year, a sixth grader who demonstrates leadership, kindness, and heart will be selected to receive the Legendary Leader Award, and their name will be added in honor of the example Mrs. Houser set for all of us.
Her impact will continue to shine brightly at Mountain View for years to come. 💗

Our Wildcat Wellness Warriors had an amazing time participating in the Young Life Glow 5K last Saturday! We are so proud of our students and staff for representing Mountain View with determination, teamwork, and school spirit. Several participants even brought home medals! Congratulations to all who participated — once a Wildcat, always a champion! 🐾🏅
