π Fire Instructor I β Hybrid Certification Course
Strong instructors build strong firefighters.
CVCC Fire & Rescue is offering a Fire Instructor I Hybrid Certification Course for experienced fire service professionals who are ready to move from doing the job to teaching, mentoring, and developing the next generation of firefighters.

In-Person Sessions:
July 9 | 8:00 AM β 5:00 PM
July 30 | 8:00 AM β 5:00 PM
Students must attend both in-person class days to sit for the certification exam.
Online Coursework:
Completed between in-person sessions.

NC OSFM Certification Requirements
Participants must meet the following requirements to pursue Fire Instructor I certification:
Minimum age of 21
High school diploma or GED
TIMS / FIP-7000 completed
Three or more years of certified experience as one of the following:
Firefighter
Hazardous Materials Operations Responder
Fire & Life Safety Educator

Individuals who do not yet meet the full three-year experience requirement may attend the course but must retake the course once eligibility is met.
Completion of Fire Instructor I does not automatically authorize instruction in certification programs. Discipline-specific qualification steps are still required.
