Week 2 at HMS, and things are starting to settle into a rhythm! Baseball and softball seasons are in full swing, bringing plenty of excitement to the start of the year. Elective classes also offer students a welcome change of pace from the whirlwind of new schedules, teachers, routines, and expectations that come with the first few weeks of school.

We’re excited to have our students back at HMS!

Just a reminder that we are on a 2:00 pm dismissal schedule until after Labor Day. This week, students being picked up will be dismissed at 1:50 pm. Beginning Monday, August 17, pickup students will be dismissed at 1:55 pm. Bus riders will be dismissed at 2:00 pm.

Please use the designated car lanes for pickup and do not block or park in the bus lane. If the pickup lanes are full, wait until there is room before pulling in so the bus lane stays clear. Buses have the right of way when leaving the parking lot. Students should also use the crosswalk when walking to a parked vehicle. We encourage families to use the pickup lanes rather than parking along Bulldog Blvd. Please refer to the attached map for drop-off and pickup information.

Dismissal may take a little longer these first few days while everyone gets back into the routine. Thank you for your patience and for helping us keep dismissal running safely and smoothly!

HMS Parents/Guardians, we have had calls regarding student schedules in PowerSchool. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are currently making final changes to our schedules and hope to have them available in PowerSchool by Monday, August 10. Students will also be provided with a copy on their first day. Students will be in homerooms for the first four days of school and homeroom teachers can be found in PowerSchool registration on the "fees" page. We apologize for any anxiety this may be causing but feel that it would cause more anxiety for a student to see a schedule now and find out it is completely different on the first day of school. Thank you for understanding.
