Education Matters in Catawba Valley Education Matters in Catawba Valley, an initiative of Catawba Valley Community College, is now CVCC

Education Matters is a partnership between Business, Government, and Education working together to increase the value of education and educational attainment in Catawba County. Through the commitment of each partner students in Catawba County Schools, Hickory Public Schools, Newton Conover City Schools, and CVCC will be able to plan for their future through an awareness of career opportunities in Catawba County and the knowledge of educational expectations and training needed to successfully gain employment.

We are excited to announce our brand new CVCC Fire Academy! This is an intensive training program designed to better prepare men and women for careers, both paid and volunteer, in the fire service. The Fire Academy applies real-world knowledge to its education principles and educates beyond the minimum certification requirements.
