Next week is Start with Hello Week! September 21st - 25th.

Monday - Blue Jay Monday- Wear your Blue Jay Spirit Wear or any of color of Blue and be ready to "say Hello" to your fellow Blue Jays!
Tuesday- Too Kind Tuesday! Wear a shirt with kind words, encouragement or positive vibes or wear your BRIGHTEST colors.
Wednesday- "Green mean Go" Wednesday. Everyone wear green and be ready to go make new friends!
Thursday- Thank you Thursday! Be prepared to to say thank you to a staff member or student with a note or just a kind word.
Friday- Family Friday! Be prepared to spend time or talk with someone in your family.

Do you have a kiddo who loves to ask “Why?” “What if?” or “What happens when…?” 🤔 Then the Oakwood Science Fair is calling their name!

Our 2nd–5th grade Blue Jays are invited to join us for this year’s Science Fair:

Science Fair is a chance for students to get curious, ask a question, conduct an experiment, and show off what they discover! 🧪✨ No need to have the perfect project idea yet—we’ll help our young scientists along the way!

🇺🇸 Remembering September 11th ❤️🤍💙

Today, our fifth graders took time to learn about September 11th in an age-appropriate and meaningful way. They read the story of Welles Crowther, “The Man in the Red Bandana,” whose courage, kindness, and willingness to help others saved lives on that difficult day.

After reading his story, students reflected through writing about what it means to be brave, to help others, and to choose kindness—even when things are hard.

For our students, September 11th is history that happened long before they were born. Sharing stories like Welles Crowther’s helps them understand the day through lessons they can carry with them: Be kind. Be brave. Help others. ❤️

Today, we remember the lives lost, honor the heroes and helpers, and teach the next generation that even in the darkest moments, people can choose to be a light. 🇺🇸
