What Librarianship Looks Like Today 🙂

Last week, we had the pleasure of celebrating our friend and colleague, Counselor for Students with Disabilities Kim Settlemyre, as the recipient of this year’s Red Hawk Excellence in Interaction Award.

Kim is deeply committed to supporting students as they pursue their academic goals, consistently going above and beyond to ensure they have the resources, encouragement, and accommodations they need to succeed. Her kindness, patience, thoughtfulness, and positive spirit make a meaningful difference in the lives of both students and colleagues alike.

We are grateful for Kim’s dedication to our campus community and proud to see her recognized with an honor that is so richly deserved.

What Librarianship Looks Like Today 🙂

CVCC Library and Student Support Specialist Mason Herman enjoyed a special visit earlier today from his mother, Tamara Letterman. To commemorate the occasion, they posed for an America250-themed photo with LaVada the Llamabrarian and Flat Cornelius.

Mason has often shared with his family how much fun life at the library can be, and today Tamara had the opportunity to see that enthusiasm firsthand. We were delighted to welcome her and are grateful she spent part of her day with us!

CVCC Library and Student Support Specialist Mason Herman has been hard at work refreshing the library's book displays for June. This morning, he gathered a variety of resources to explore the great outdoors—an inspiring theme for the summer season.

We are grateful for Mason's creativity and dedication in curating engaging displays that connect our students and community members with resources that encourage learning, discovery, and adventure both inside and outside the library.
